ICC has been retained by the Harney County Fairgrounds, Burns , Oregon to assess the state of their current fairground facilities, address what facilities can be upgraded, assess the needs of the county and develop a plan for future growth of the fairgrounds within the greater Harney County region.

ICC and our partner, Sierra Planning and Management kicked off our initial research in October 2019 with a site visit, community tour and two days of stakeholder meetings.

We are excited to be able to assist the Harney County Fairgrounds with a plan for their future.

ICC in association with Sierra Planning and Management completed their fairgrounds asset assessment and feasibility study in early January and presented such to the Harney County Fairgrounds Board of Directors during their regular session on January 14th. The report was well received by the board. Numerous stakeholder groups and community members were in attendance during the presentation. A good discussion followed the session with both board members and guests posing a variety of questions to the ICC – Sierra Team.

ICC proposed a series of next steps for the Board to consider at their next regularly scheduled meeting. The potential for upgrading the current fairgrounds facilities, replacing several aged facilities and creating new innovative spaces will enhance the quality of life for the residents of Harney County and make their fairgrounds a full twelve month operating entity.
